The manic Mondays, sugar-laden office coffees, and the 9-to-5 shifts might have stopped at the moment; however, what hasn't come to a halt is our work. In this segment of Quarantine Diaries, we tell you how to spruce up the mundane hours at home due to the lockdown, with light doses of fashion and style insights.

Today, we talk about the new rage: the Work From Home decorum. While the corporate culture has its set dress codes such as smart casuals, strict corporate, and casual Fridays, do those rules apply even when you aren't stationed at your desk? And if they don't, then the pressing question is what to wear when you work from home? With ‘home’ being synonymous to ‘laid back’, how does one adapt functionality, style, and comfort into our ensembles everyday?

You do not have to break a sweat because we have all the answers right here for you--for every day of the week. Irrespective of how long the lockdown lasts, follow our cues and you will be showing up every day of your WFH schedule like a boss!

Are you game for a lockdown challenge to dress up while working from home?

#MeaningfulMondays

The biggest day of the week for a girl who means business is a Monday. It is the day when you will be answering the maximum number of team calls, a horde of emails, and setting an agenda for the week ahead. For a day this jam-packed, choose a pair of informal pants to keep you comfortable on the couch. Team them with a solid-hued semi-formal shirt in a fabric like LIVA that feels soft on your skin and adds a hint of professionalism for those work video calls. Before you answer that video call, though, quickly check you are well-groomed and in an audible space and that your background is clutter-free!

#TrendyTuesdays

On Tuesday, aim to wear one of the latest fashion trends. Swap the solid semi-formal shirt for something more dramatic. Dig into your drawer of trends and pull out one that is work-appropriate as well as chic: Stripes. Whether they are broad lines or slim pin-stripes, throw on a striped blouse to look like you have got your life in order. Another trend that we are digging for a trendy work from home outfit is going monochrome. Extra points if you adorn a jumpsuit in a single tone from head to toe. Pull off a trendy look to bring out the boss-girl vibes even while you are getting the work done from your bed...Sshhh, we ain’t complaining!

#WhimsicalWednesdays

All work and no play...? After working hard the past few days, unleash your creative side just before the monotony gets to you. On Wednesday, let your work from home dress code take a relaxed backseat as you adorn a more functional maxi dress for ease of movement around the house. A long dress in a breathable fabric does just that while you smash deadlines as well as do the dishes.

#ThrowbackThursdays

There is no denying that we all have a favorite piece of clothing that has been hung at the back of our closet only to be found years later, dust-laden. On Thursday, we challenge you to try on a really old outfit and sport it around the house guilt-free. Tend to the work at hand with the utmost confidence that the clothes still fit and do not forget to take a beaming selfie along the way for your #ThrowbackThursdays post on Instagram.

#FusionFridays

When they say casual Fridays at work they don't mean too casual. However, while working from home, nothing is too casual if done right. On Friday, throw on that pair of ripped jeans that were trendy last season but never made it to work. Next, try on something different, like a flowy kurti over the ripped jeans, pulled together with some dainty jhumkas. Now is the time to experiment with prints, designs, colours, and spring summer 2020 fashion trends without worrying about your co-workers judging.

#SelfCareSaturdays

It is the weekend and you are officially off work. On Saturday, don’t think a lot about what to wear at home all day. Simply pull out your favourite outfit, the one that instantly elevates your mood and cheers you up. Today is about loving yourself, so remember to dedicate some me-time amidst the piling laundry and kids’ demands.

#SpoilMeSillySundays

Cute matching pajamas, chic loungewear, or a pair of shorts and a large t-shirt are some relaxed and comfy work from home outfit options. Slide yourself into a breezy outfit like a LIVA dress that coaxes you to live your flow even when you are just watching Netflix with a glass of wine. After all, Sundays are for relaxation and unwinding.
